This one can be a photo selling site. With this concept, I think a list of following product types can fit in:
-- Video
-- Games/Movies
-- Photo; digital items
-- Softwares CDs/DVDs

If you change the demo content + the big header + slideshow, you will get the look you want

Looks a bit like a Joomlastore with VM and somehow a bit like a Gavick.com template, except the layout itself… But looks okay!

I agree. Yes, this can be modified but it doesn’t have the look and feel of a TRUE artist or photographer web site for selling photos and prints. I have not found any templates that look at all like a professional artist or photographer web site. The only thing I can do is to create my own from scratch or heavily modify one from Joomlart or somewhere else.

I have read posts from many people looking for the same thing and not finding it. I found one template for VirtueMart from another vendor that comes close.

Joomlart designers are far better programmers and designers than I am but I will just have to do the best I can on my own. If I could afford it I would hire someone to create the template for me but at this time can’t afford that.

It is a niche that no template designers are doing at this time.

That is because they do not use templates but have some developer who make those from scratch or from own developed frameworks for future templates.

Do not expect massware to be same good as expert sites when it comes to such markets like photo selling. There are companies who are specialized on Newssites or Photography sites, photo selling sites, multimedia sites, shops and so on. There you have a team of 10, 20 or more people sitting at one table when you give them a project, they evaluate the concept, make changes or additions to it, discuss what they will need to do, what custom extension they need to develop, what payment processors need to be included, language wise translations for international presence, so you may understand why some of the top shops in the business will cost a company a min. of 100,000$ with open end and same it is with a professional photoselling site, like Istockphoto,.com. They do not use any shopping system kept so simple like VirtueMart or even Magento. Most people forget that even the hosting for such pro sites is not done with a hosting account or one dedicated server alone. The system itself will lie on several multiple servers guaranteeing that when one goes down just a bit, traffic will be routed to others and so on. The photoselling system of the name brands in the business works a bit different than a Magento shop and same it is with the templates you will get. You may be better with using any Joomla template you like and customize it before you await someone will bring out this or you have some luck and JA does this, as they already mentioned, they consider it.

Any good photographer who sells his own art online will also have some company who does this for him, matching his or her clients needs and frequency of the site. So I would say, for a real good site like this most pro photographers are okay with paying also 10,000$ for it when it raises their status, and also will pay out later. Hard to achieve with a template and Magento, as there are simply said photoselling scripts and systems out there, but those cost a bit and I would also say, a pro photographer knows enough about the business to only get one of those and not a VM store or a Joomla site with some extension or gallery.

The approach of one member here with his work for wedding photographer is nice and looks good, so anyones own choice how to do it and what clients desire.

I agree, would make a nice template for the Joomla Club too! Looks good.

It is nice but I hope there will also be some non-tech-electronics-downloads JM Themes and that the extensions coming with the template will be stable soon. If those would be stable by now I would consider purchasing a membership but I am not 100% sure of those will be stable already in a matter of 3 months from now when a new membership would end again.

With Magento I keep 1000% to the rule "Do not use beta versions in commercial live environments" if it is a JA/JM extension or any other, so I will wait until those are officially stable.

I also hope JA will offer those like any other extensions seller for Magento on a freestanding basis so people can purchase only those extensions they need, as what for paying 180$ to 380$ for 4 when I only use one or 2 for real and some people really only need the extensions.

Again, on the business side of JA, it would only benefit to sell those independently, as there are not just a few who purchase extensions for 100$ each, but those are stable by now, have to be.

Great idea Zorroh, as a photographer I’d really like to see this also.. Every good photographer needs a great site. Flash sites look good, but are very inadequate when it comes to SEO. A couple more photography style templates are much needed and the JA Team has the great know-how to make it happen..

This template would be great for template club. Joomlart Club is falling behind, I used to wait in anticipation for the twice monthly templates to come out (now down to one), I’ve been a member for several years now, but i’m feeling like letting it go. It feels like your focus has gone elsewhere. You need to look after those who have supported you for years and give us more to excite!

Why JA Club is falling behind? There are still 2 templates per month and did you know that there will be even 3 templates for March? How do you come to the conclusion that JA is not looking after for existing members? We are more than serious about that

I meant that the new templates for Magento were inovative and exciting and JA templates have seemed to be less so lately . Maybe I was having a bad day that day … but it was frustrating seeing good templates that I didn’t have access to without paying a double subscrition, . I love your work and reccomend it often. It’s great that tube is now available

You can install VirtueMart and make it a ecommerce store.
