Can I install the new summer theme, while keeping theme on my site intact? Until my new page set up is ready to replace the old

I would like to install the new summer theme for my website, but keep the existing theme intact. I want to experiment and set up Summer on new pages and only then change the theme for the entire website. I tried a few things but I was unable, would you be able to help me out?
