Sorry, I missed that this was a Magento problem. I’m no expert on that having barely touched it. Your encoding appears correct. Check that your database has the same encoding (utf-8) setup as that is where the description is being read from. If the data is wrong in your databse you will need to correct it there. I cannot really come up with any more suggestions but hopefully one of the Magento experts can pipe in.
