Credit Redemption (for Magento)

Just wondering if there are any plans to extend the Credit Redemption system to Magento templates?

For example…

If $499 Joomla Dev license cost 6000 credits…

Then $350 Magento Dev license for 4500 credits?

Any thoughts? Hung?

I’ll make it easier to answer…

Just wondering if there are any plans to extend the Credit Redemption system to Magento templates?

A. No, we do not plan to implement Credit Redemption for Magento…
B. Yes, we plan to announce a Credit Redemption system for Magento soon…
C. We’ll consider it and let you know…

I do not like the way that when a thread starts that criticises Joomlart it gets an official response from JA straight away, a good policy of course, but when established members start posts looking for a response from JA they can take weeks to get an official reply (if ever). The copyright thread, the phpBB thread, the new agreement thread are all examples.

It is much better policy to respond to a post, even if the answer is not what the customer wants to hear, than just ignoring it altogether.

No, who can afford it and surely not at this early point of time, where the JM Club is just opened, the investments and efforts spent may not make it possible to expend the same credit system that works in the Joomla club to the JM Club at this point of time. All other options would not be business wise something usual, but why not expecting the unusual, how some market their material. Maybe, when the club works viable and generates steady income and the situation allows it they may either expand the credit system also to the JM Club or create a new credit system that only works inside the JM Club.

—-> You can’t give a cow away for free to the churl who washes them before the sales on the market in town as long you do not sell 100 cows a day and the churl really helps you prosper.

Scotty,

Did you send an email to Hung? I am sure many members would be interested to know.

To be honest -- I don’t see JoomlArt going for this.
From a business perspective, it’s not the best move.
It would be like giving away free goods to a regular customer but from a different shop!

I can see JoomlArt attempting to offer a reduced price in exchange for some credits (and maybe even a short term membership) -- but I don’t see any freebies anywhere at the moment.

But hey, maybe Hung is feeling generous ;D

Can’t afford it myself until next week. The well is dry. Hopefully I will get it before the offer expires.

Actually, it is per template. I think I read somewhere that it is actually $120 per template so that with a 50% discount for Developers, it is only $60. And unlike the JA templates, it is lifetime support for the templates that you bought.

I assume since the 50% reduction is for Developers, if you bought the template, as a Developer, you have unlimited license to that specific template. Hypothetically, therefore, if you have a million clients — assuming you are not simply reselling but actually use the template to create pages with your talent — then, you can even charge $60 for the template on top of the other webdesign and scripting fees. Your client gets 50% reduction too and you recoup your cost with the first client, everything else is profit (as far as the template), after that.

Of course, if you have a million clients, you might not even be here.

I prefer this business plan, rather than the "annual" subscription with unlimited access to templates, that if you come to think of it, you will never use anyway/, especially for non-develper members.

I am glad that Joomlart is moving to this mutually beneficial arrangement. This is the business plan for many Joomla extensions

Now, all Joomalrt has to do is providea fully functional Demo, a well written manual as well as true technical support. When I say fully functional, I meant one you could actually "test drive", like a car, not just look how pretty it is from the outside.

JM Mesolite for example looks pretty but I maintain that you have no way of knowing how it will really perform. So many features, are just promises -- if you click at them, many are not functional — try it if you do not believe me. I do not know how Joomlart expects anyone buy something like that. — except perhaps those who are the most loyal supporters of Joomlart and those who have all the time in the world and the skills to make each of these work.

If you plan to develop a Commerce site, you have to show that you are reliable before your potential customers will drop their dollars in your coffers. If any of your features do not work, you will be the one to suffer.

If I have to choose between a $300 Commerce template that is truly functional, including finance transaction and security features vs a $60 template, like JM Mesolite as it is now, I will not think twice what I will choose.

I definitely should hope that I’ve just not paid $175 USD for one template for lifetime support and unlimited access to that said template.

Here’s hoping I have access to all templates coming in the near future. .

The one priced at $350, before the half off, is for the full Developer Membership. The biggest downside I see to it is it is only 3 months. Currently 2 templates out and 1 per month would make 5 templates total.

Hmmm…. I wonder if it is more cost effective, at this point in time, to purchase the individual templates that one really wants and wait until there are more templates available to choose from to get the Developer Membership.
