Does MSI need to be enabled for migration?

When MSI is not enabled I receive inventory_source_* table does not exist at step 5 and it fails.
But when I enable MSI and see a “no linked stock found” when I browse the frontend (after migration -- but the migration succeeds) ??
Any ideas?!
Thanks

I could disable MSI and it would probably work, but I’m concerned that if I did disable MSI after a migration then future Delta migrations would not work..
Is that correct?
Thanks

To solve that issue, for each migrated website, store, and store view lets open it and click to save button in Stores management in back-end of your M2 site.

Yes that is right.

Stock with id “1” does not exist.

I have resolved this by adding a new stock source…
BUT, will this cause issues with running deltas now?
Thanks

No, it happened because you hadn’t successfully installed Magento’s Inventory module with the sample data.
