Jmproductslider to show specific categories

I want to call jmproductslider to show products specific categories.  The docs show either of the following: 

• {{block type=”joomlart_jmproductsslider/list” title=”mytitle” name=”home.jmproductsslider.list” mode=”latest”}}
• {{block type=“joomlart_jmproductsslider/list” name=“cate.jmproductsslider1” mode=“latest” number_items=“1” width=“237” height=“170” catsid=“4”}}

As the mode states, this shows the latest products.  I understand I can call any of the following modes:

• latest — Latest Product was created
• best_buy — Best Seller Products
• most_viewed — Most Viewed Products
• top_rated — Top Rated Products
• featured — Featured Products

None of these get what I want the sliders to do.
Adding catsid=”4″ does not limit the products into that specific category, and yes the category id is correct.
I even tried calling the template=“joomlart/jmproductsslider/categories.phtml”.  However I get the following error:

To wrap up, how do I get Jmproductslider to show products in specific categories?
