Magento 2 Data Migration Tool

Does the Magento 2 Data Migration Tool use port 3306 for accessing the database? I am having issues with it connecting to the database and my host is asking what port the migration tool is trying to connect to. Is the number in the () an error code?
Error Message:
Couldn’t connected to Magento 1 database: Can’t connect to MySQL server on ‘ip address’ (110)

Thanks

=> Yes, this tool connect to the MySQL via default port 3306 of MySQL.
Did you settings correct connect information of Magento1 database in Step 1 of this tool?

Hi htanvir,

Hi, I am having the same error, please help me resolve this.

Please re-check your databases credentials once more. If your M1 MySQL server is not on the same server with M2’s server, you need to enable remote connection from M2’s server to M1’s server. And you should contact your hosting provider to get further help on this.
PS. Should you have additional question, please submit a new ticket, we will follow up further with you then.

Regards,
Mall.
