I have created products, categories, I can get categories to show in Nav bar on front page Any suggestions.
Further research and problem solved!

HI olefogey,

Click Catalog/Manager Categories -> Click Root Catalog -> Click Add Subcategory -> input your new category name and chose "Yes" in option "Is Active" . I am sure you ‘ll successful .
