The site http://www.lifestyle-impex.co.uk/ doesnt provide either the new customer or the client a confirmation email to say a new account has been opened although in config, store email addresses and customer config email address are correct and working.
they were working when the store was setup and havent been changed
email address in question is firstname.lastname@example.org
we are also not getting any emails for orders but can view send wishlist emails.
This is caused from you haven’t set in admin this feature "Require Emails Confirmation" must be set yes in system -> configuration -> Customer Configuration.

Thanks for the answer thangnn, but if you read my post it says it was already working as it had already been switched to yes.
It hasnt been switched off and doesnt work now ( as i mention above )
So i still have the same question -- Does anybody know what this could be ?
OK Guys -- ive looked into the above issue some more and it turns out this is an issue many people are having.
It centres around whether Magento is sending out emails for new accounts, orders etc both to the client as well as internal notifications.
Has anybody else come across this or have suggested fix ?
