My client just purchased JA_Ores which I installed. The version of JM_Ores purchase on 10/19/2011 is ver. 1.5.0.1 I am being questioned about the critical upgrade message to 1.6.1.0 when they login. When a customer buys a magento package from JA, shouldn’t it come with the current version?

We have released 10 Magento themes for Magento 1.6. They are:

JM Irisite
JM Asenti
JM Bistro
JM Mozanis
JM Minisite
JM Tyrolite
JM Adamite
JM EasyShop

Within the coming weeks, we plan to release our 1.6 updates for the following themes:
(barring any unforseen issues)

JM Natris
JM Deco
JM Painite
JM Oganis
JM Galaxite
JM Anion
JM Norite
JM Ores

Our Dev Team is working hard on this and hope that all of our JMTC Magento themes will be upgraded (for Magento 1.6) no later than Nov 2011.

I have been advised that our Magento 1.6 update for JA Ores should be released within the week (barring any unforeseen issues/delay).

Only 5 days left until november. Hopefully Ores will get an update. Magento 1.6 was available august, 18. Quality -- not quantity counts -- it would be better to update the themes faster, than to publish every month an new theme.

Please take note that our statement was that our goal is to have all of our JMTC Themes updated for Magento 1.6 no later than November 2011 -- which means that it is our goal to have the themes updated before the month of November is over -- not necessarily by Nov 1.

. . . . it would be better to update the themes faster, than to publish every month an new theme.

While I certainly understand where you’re coming from, I would have to also say that the statement would be a matter of personal opinion . . . as our JMTC Themes are fully functional with Magento 1.5.0.1 -- so it’s not really an issue of quality, as the quality and functionality remains … albeit for Magento 1.5.0.1 (which remains every bit as functional/robust as the day it was released).

Quality -- not quantity counts . . .

The ironic thing about this statement is that the request to get all of our JMTC Themes immediately updated for Magento 1.6 would actually be a QUANTITY over quality issue . . . as quality work takes time (to make sure the job is done right). Would you not agree?

Again . . . BELIEVE ME . . . I completely understand where you are coming from. I used to be/think exactly the same way -- wanting the updates for things as quickly as possible. Since joining the JA Support Staff and getting a better understanding of how things operate -- and how involved the development of our templates and themes can be -- I have developed a whole other level of understanding and, dare I say, patience for the "we want to make sure we get it right" methodology that is tasked upon our JA Developers. (They really do work very hard each and every day to not only address technical issues/bugs that are brought to their attention, but to continue to develop new/exciting templates/themes and bring existing themes up-to-date as quickly and -- most importantly -- completely as possible.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as well.

I appreciate your comments, but please see that before my question in september, I didt got any information about -- what will happen to Joomlart Magento Themes -- no information on the blog nor on the forum, if magento themes will be updated. I would stick with Joomlart, but as customer we need to be informed. For the commercial extensions that we use, we get updates one latest two month later after presentation of new release.
As we are only interested in Magento Themes, news about other CMS is not relevant.
