overwrite core files

I’m re-submitting my question here because it seems to be a little more active, Ive also submitted tickets but because of the timezone difference i’m getting one reply a day and when they send a follow up question i have to wait a whole day to get the answer.

ive already uploaded jm_mozanis theme, would it be ok to overwrite all the core files with the files from the ‘quickstart’ folder, or have i gone too far already?

its simply because i want my layout to mimic the demo’s layout and static blocks are far to time consuming for me at the moment lol.

i’d appreciate anything. A YES or No answer is good enough because so far i’ve had one minor problem a day which has a led me to waste whole days on pretty much nothing. TIME IS MONEY!!! thanks

ok i’ve spent another day uninstalling everything from my server and reinstalling using the quickstart data.
i’m now getting the above error after entering database info in the installation process.

to be honest ive never worked with a more buggy platform that than this one lol its shocking to me, it seems like every hurdle ive jumped i’ve also dropped one just to compensate for the earths balance
