Is it possible to have the product slider display categories instead of products? My clients site has only 3 categories and when purchasing the template, my vision was to have that category info there.
Again, I have excluded login info because I prefer instruction to direct intervention. I will provide the information via PM if deemed necessary.

Your idea already supports in this module. Go to admin -> System -> Configuration -> edit JM Products Slider module. You will see Categories ID textbox in the preview page
