When do you plan to upgrade Magento demosites to 1.8 ?
Having Magento 1.8 in quickstart package and Magento 1.7 on Demosite…does not help.
In the interim, where can I find in the download section the Magento 1.7 quickstart….?

Might I ask why -- for all intents and purposes -- it matters whether the Demo still shows Magento 1.7 and the download files have been updated for Magento 1.8? I’m just trying to understand what would be holding you up.

The themes and extensions still working the same whether they are on magento 1.8 or 1.7 so I think we don’t need upgrade the demo site to use magento 1.8

why don’t you use the magento latest version of 1.8 ? I saw that the magento 1.7 quickstarts have been removed from download section !

Before upgrading a production site to a new version of Joomla or Magento, I usually wait for the version to be available in the demo builder, I test how it works, how it affects the layout etc… When the new version is not available, I prefer to stay with the version available in demo builder (Magento 1.7 or Joomla 3.1).
