i did re-index data and i got back slide
but cant find how to set search by Quick Overview and sku

In the Advanced Search form here you can search by Short Description (Quick Overview) and SKU. Can you explain in more details the problem with that?

is it possible to search by name, description, short description and sku from top page search.

I think it’s possible, however it’s not supported by Magento core. You could hire a developer to implement this or find a third-party extension for this purpose.

when i turn off JM advance search
top mini search is messed up (style.css)…

but …i can search articles by Short Description !

I have checked and see the same. Actually, the JM advance search does not support multi fields search, I think you have to disable the advance search, then re-style the default search box to get it displayed nice.

I’m kinda having the same problem. When I type in the name of a product JM Advance Search doesn’t find it. But in your example: http://www.boomini.eu it works! When I type in for example the word "girl" I get al the product with "girl" in the productname.

How did you get it working?

You have this issue cause of JM Advenced Search. It does not work as the magento default search!

If you type one word and just press search Then it will show you only the products that have the keyword in their Title. If you switch Jm Advanced Search OFF, and you enter the same keyword you will get much more results. Cause it will search in description and so on. I am also looking forword this issue.

it is not cool that JM advanced search searches only in the title! Then this search has totally no use! It’s use can be only to through it in the recycle bin of the desktop. Will be JA looking foreword to fix it? or at least make it configurable? thank you..

p.s. THe search works with the OR statement make it AND statement, most aamzing would be if the search would also work with the words from meta description or metakyewords!

For instance one has a shop of constructiona materials and he has a category of doors. In that category he creates products and the title of the product is the name of the door like "Asta Oak " or smth like it wouldbe stupid to make it "Door Asta Oak" but what if the users searches using the words: "Doors, Wooden door, mdf, e.t.c." He will not see the door even these words are in Description and meta description. But a smart search should be like that!

There is also a problem about this search. it appears that it is completely incompatible with Magento Search system. Magento will save all the search words that were used buy users and guests that will help you optimize your keywords and e.t.c. It also have a good solution that you can assign synonyms to one word and if somebody Enters to word "Floor" then in search he would find everything i wrote in the synonyms. I checked it and it works, but if i switch to JA Quick Search on! then this feature also does not work! Please forward this problem too, as it is not very good that JA custom product disables or is not compatible with magento core features.

p.s. Yes i understand very good that it will not be an instant update. I do not need it myself urgently as i will disable the JM Advenced Search and just customize the Magento Default search till your search will be viable. Just really want your team to do it as it will make your current templates and future ones much better with pleasant in handy features.

Thanks for sharing the information. We will check again and consider to update the extension in the future. As explained in my previous reply, I could not mention a specific date for the update now.
