Solved: JM Slideshow broken in quicklaunch, breaks site.

Seeing same issue with JM product slider

Could you try to upgrade the php version? As I can see now its version is 5.2.17, please try to upgrade to 5.3 and let me know what happen.

For future reference and other users experiencing the same issue, there is a easy fix:
Simply add the following line to our .htaccess

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php53 .php

Have you tried to contact your host? They might be able to change the version for you

I’m getting this error. I added AddHandler application/x-httpd-php53 .php to the .htaccess, but all it did is make me download the .php pages when I tried to refresh.

The error is:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method Mage_Core_Model_Config_Element::count() in /public_html/app/code/local/JoomlArt/JmParamhelpers/Block/System/Config/JmParamhelpers.php on line 118

Wow! The first one to post in this forum, so first of all let me compliment the lovely design of Dicento! Very nice job!

I have installed the quick launch package, everything seems to be working but when trying to enter the admin part of JM Slideshow I get the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method Mage_Core_Model_Config_Element::count() in /home/chateaud/public_html/app/code/local/JoomlArt/JmParamhelpers/Block/System/Config/JmParamhelpers.php on line 118

I have tried to update with the extension package included with the template but this fails to install, breaks the entire site and leaves me no other option then reinstalling the entire quick launch package.

Do you guys have an idea on how to fix this? or could you please include an updated version of the extension for use with this template?

Hi there -- I had the same problem! If you download a fresh magento version, delete the JMParameters directory on your server in App>Code>Local>JoomlArt and copy the file "edit.php" from your new magenta download to App>Code>Core>Mage>Adminhtml>Block>System>Config on your server -- this should now work 🙂
