I have been looking allover to find the newsletter box? i didnt see it in right_col.phtml.
Would you please locate the location for me?

You can control this via this file:/app/design/frontend/default/jm_larix/layout/newsletter.xml
and here is the source code file: app/design/frontend/default/jm_larix/template/newsletter/subscribe.phtml
