I have been trying to install JA Larix several times now but it seem to be impossible.

I was wondering if there are any instructions on how to install the template JA Larix?

The thing is that I

Hmmm… It sounds as though you are trying to upload a zip that has other zips in it.

Double click on the zip file you think is the template and see if there are actually other zip files in it. If so, you need to first extract those zip files (i.e. template, source, extensions, etc.)…and THEN try and install just the template zip.

Hi Jbrett, thanks for a quick reply!

No, I am not trying to upload a zip that has other zips in it. In the beginning there were a big zip -- so I unzipped it. The unzipped folder contained one folder called "template", and in that folder I found a zipped file called "jmtc_larix". And JMTC_LARIX is the file I tried to install using Joomlas install menu. Jmtc_larix doesn´t contain any more zipped files.

Right now I just feel like Joomlart has sold me a template that doesn´t work. I have already emailed their IT-support twice but they refuse to reply me.

…Hopefully, one day, I will learn how to install the template.

AH!!! Hold everything!

There actually is no JM_Larix Joomla template. There is, however, a JM-Larix template for Magento. and a JA-Larix template for Joomla.

If you’re seeing "JMTC_larix" then you are working with a Magento template. You cannot load a Magento template in Joomla. You can only upload it to a Magento platform.

I know it’s gotten confusing around here since templates for two different platforms are being cranked out of the same house and website.

Good luck,
John.

Bingo! Can’t install a Magneto template in Joomla!

It is definitely confusing around here. I answered a post the other day trying to help someone assuming it was Joomla related not realizing it was in the Magneto forums. Duh… I didn’t even notice until someone corrected me.

Joomlart might want to consider creating Magnetoart or something to help make this place a little less confusing.

There is a JA Larix template for Joomla. Make sure you download that and you will be able install it to Joomla.

Hi.

Thanks a lot you guys, now it makes a lot more sense! So I´ve just paid 200 USD for a Magento template and not a Joomla template. This really sucks! Are you saying that I have to pay again to get the Joomla template? Can´t they just refund the money or just let me download the correct template? I´ve emailed them but they are not answering….

Seems like you made an honest mistake. I would ask them to refund the purchase of the Magneto membership and tell them you would like to purchase the Joomla membership. This is the reason they should have the Magneto and Joomla sites seperate. It would keep problems like this from happening.

Hi Mr. Hung Dinh,

I’m one of your clients and I downloaded this template JA Larix, but on the discription of this template says

(http://www.joomlart.com/templates_cl…a_larix.html):
"An Overview of JA Larix features:
…..
2 screen resolution types: narrow and wide
….."

Where can I change to wide mode?

I want to have this templete, but wider than you have on your demonstration (Live demo), So I can have more thing on the middle.

I can show you how this site is now:
http://greentronik.com/imagens/Proto…ntronikcom.jpg

I already made some changes on the file template_css.css before on Extensions > Template Manager > Edit CSS from:
"
/* MAIN LAYOUT DIVS
——————————————————— */
#ja-wrapper1 {
width: 990px;
margin: 0 auto;
}
"
To:
"
/* MAIN LAYOUT DIVS
——————————————————— */
#ja-wrapper1 {
width: 1190px;
margin: 0 auto;
}
"

As some modules got broken, I had to change again to the standart width.

The version of this ja_larix that is installed is 1.4, is there a newer version?

Best Recards,
Vinicius Carvalho

Hi v7s7

Where can I change to wide mode?

=> please open app\design\frontend\default\jm_larixtemplate\page \ja_vars.php file, find following code:

#TEMPLATE WIDTH DESCRIPTION
$_params->set(‘ja_screen’,’wide’);//narrow:Narrow Screen; wide:Wide Screen;

Here you can change the red text to narrow or wide

For the question: The version of this ja_larix that is installed is 1.4, is there a newer version?
=> We are upgrading our template. I will available for downloading about next two days.
