There is this weird problem in the Gem theme. It is also in the demo website.
The problem is the product image zoom doesn’t work for simple products and just display the image in the same dimension in the zoom box. Refer this screenshot (error.png) to look at the issue.
The weird thing is if a product has configurable swatches and we select the swatch then the zoom works perfectly. That means zoom work for simple products associated with a configurable product but not for independent simple products. Refer to this screenshot (working.png) to look at the weird part.
Please help me..
PS Link to the my website: First try the zoom without selecting a color swatch. Then select a swatch and try the zoom again.

Nevermind, I found the solution to this problem myself.
For others, if you’re having the same problem then:
Go to JoomlaArt > JM Base Theme > JM Basetheme: General Settings > Product Detail Settings
And set both Height and Width of the Product Image to 1000
