Search Engine Friendly URL?

Dear seanm,

In order to change your URLS to be Search engine friendly . Please login Back-end -> System Menu -> Configuration . In General Menu , choice Web -> Search Engines Optimization -> Use Web Server Rewrites ‘s value is Yes.

I tried to st the value to yes, and i now get Page Error or internal error when i click on any page.
Any other tips as why it would do this?

2. login FTP changes: htaccess.txt to .htaccess
3.need to check your server mod_rewrite
