Thumbnails on the right instead of bottom?

Is it possible to get the thumbnails in a vertical manner on the right side of the banner? Instead of horizontal -- bottom?

Have you played around with the module parameters to see if it gives you the option of where the thumbnails are aligned?

Technically it is possible but in practice styling this correctly would be a lot of effort. If you really want it then you should consider paying a freelancer to do the work for you.
