Before purchasing UB migration PRo, I wanted to try with UM migration light first. Here is the steps that I did
1- Installed magento 2.2.6 and installed light version on it.
2. installed magento 1.9.2 database only from where I want to migrate data
3. Started migration process and Till category migration went smooth. I have 2000 categories
4. Next step was product migration. I have 40,000 products. Process started and I was noticing product data was inserting in table. After few mins 20-30 min it timeout but in backend still data insertion process was running. total 12,000 products were migrated. Then it stopped and it has now errors.
My question
1.How Can I prevent this timeout issue?
2.Will it work from Command line interface also?
3. I know this tool will not migrate theme, extension. But from data point all the data like customer,order, products …. all settings … all data will be migrated? Is there anything do I have to manually migrate.
4. What system configuration I will require to migrate Categories(1400) , products (40,000)?

Thanks for working around with our Lite version.
It’s a pity that the Lite version is based on an outdated codebase, so unexpected issue might occur during your testing migration.
Further, it’s only available for Magento 2.0.7, and your M2 must be a fresh instance.
Regarding your other questions, we’d like to clarify further below:

Due to our limited resource, we hardly find chance updating our Lite version. Thus, we highly recommend you consider moving forward with our Pro version instead. It has been optimized for better performance and supports CLI mode that prevents from the timeout bottleneck (Please note the migration performance also depends on your server capacity as well).

Besides the core Magento data, our migration tool supports core and custom attributes for Product. For customers, we support core system attributes only, the custom fields for sales data is not handled yet. This is partially because such custom fields do not exist in default Magento 2. Further, for those are added manually or via third-party extensions, it would be best to leave such custom fields handled by the associated extensions, instead of separately migrating those.
4. What system configuration I will require to migrate Categories(1400) , products (40,000)?
You simply follow 8 visualized steps (as noted here) in our migration dashboard, and a few extra steps in our manual instruction that comes packed with your download package.
