I have added a product to my (default) store view and am unable to add a category to same. Here is what I did to get where I am now.
In admin
1. Catalog>manage categories>new root category>new subcategory
2. Catalog>manage products> choose store view>clicked on categories
3. It appears as if searched, but brought up no page for me to configure.
Apparently, I missed a step, any suggestions as to what I missed
With assistance from quang268 and more research, problem has been solved.
