My site gives an error after you try to sort the search results by price. (error clears only after removing cookies)
“Error on sort by price in search results
You cannot define a correlation name ‘_inventory_table’ more than once”

Our Bookshop theme work fine when sorting by price at http://bookshop.demo.ubertheme.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?dir=asc&order=price&q=memory
and i see the issue as you said come from a third-party extension in your site with named “Mirasvit/SearchIndex”
#11 /home/local/public_html/app/code/local/Mirasvit/SearchIndex/Block/Results.php(189): Mage_Core_Block_Abstract->toHtml()
#12 /home/local/public_html/app/design/frontend/base/default/template/searchindex/results_tabs.phtml(33): Mirasvit_SearchIndex_Block_Results->getCurrentContent()
Please try disabled this extension in your site and test again or you can contact to Mirasvit to get help for this issue.
