I’m getting this error and this theme appears to come with zero documentation…
I unzipped all of the zip files provided (except quickstart) and rsynced them into my magento install directory.

Yes, I synced the Basetheme.zip files as well.

Yes I knew this and I had installed it -- but deleting the var/cache directory seemed to fix the problem. Thanks!

Yes. When you installed the extensions JM BaseTheme. You need clear cache of magento.
