Can you provide me more information about that? What are tables you mentioned?

the usual set sales, customer, products etc…

We’re not completely sure about the context you mentioned.
The table sales, customers, products etc., are the core tables created by Magento after installation, our tool does not make any change to such tables’ structure. And you do not need to create such default tables as well.
If you can explain the details of your context, we can better understand and give you the answer.

The context is this.
we have created many custom attributes in customer, product, order tables. Some of them we had to manually create, time consuming.
Hence, we would like to know if we can just empty these tables alone and start the conversion process, we expect the matching attributes alone be populated.

If the custom attributes you mentioned were created in your Magento 1, then our tool can port custom attributes of product only, as we focus mainly on the system attribute instead.
If the custom attributes you added in Magento 2, then it’s beyond scope of our migration tool, as it transfers core M1 data to M2 only.
