Just want to make sure I understand the issue correctly . . .

So you tried to install your JM Methys template using the quickstart installation process?
And, in doing so, you received errors?

The install works but reindexing fails on most of them and I tried to select all products and disable them all but that throws up an error too -- could it be an issue with the product database?

It could be . . . but what do you mean, specifically, by "reindexing?"

With Methys quickaccess install, it isn’t possible to run/build reindex in admin -- settings -- reindex

I think you may be mixing terms up . . . what is it exactly you are wanting to do (without using the word "reindex")?

When you first install you get the warning:

One or more of the Indexes are not up to date: Product Attributes, Product Prices, Catalog URL Rewrites, Product Flat Data, Category Flat Data, Category Products, Catalog Search Index, Stock Status, Tag Aggregation Data. Click here to go to Index Management and rebuild required indexes.

You go to the index management page, then one at a time click the "Reindex Data" -- but for most of them you get the error

There was a problem with reindexing process.

and the status stays on "Processing"

This occurs with Product Prices, Catalog URL Rewrites, Product Flat Data & Category Products

Also, as per other forum threads, if you try and change all the product statues to "Disabled" you get the error

An error occurred while updating the product(s) status.

I hope this makes sense!
