Hi there,
I have an existing magento site running Magento 1.9.2.2 and I have developed a new website using the Travel Gear theme on a fresh install of Magento using the quickstart.
The dev site has been configured and been completed and I was wondering how I can install this theme over top of the old website retaining all of the customer information, shipping settings, products etc.
Is it possible to use the quickstart in a way that retains the information and I can manually copy my theme files across? Or is there a better way to do it?

Hi Richard,
You can download in the test site and upload again to the Live site. Download the database and upload database before installing the Magento. Remember delete the file: app/etc/local.xml for reinstall.

Many thanks for coming back to me -- if I download and upload the database from the fresh installation of magento onto the live site -- wouldn’t that wipe out all of the settings (shipping info, customers, orders etc)?
Is there any way to extract all of the settings I’ve put into the theme (megamenu etc) and overlay them on the current live site?

You Must download files from Dev site, the database also. when you upload to Live you will import database first. and remember delete the file: app/etc/local.xml for reinstall.
