Very disappointed!!!

I don’t know about other JM members but I am extremely disappointed! Waited for a month long and you guys released the "NEW"JM Larix magento template?! Come on! New and innovative when it was released back in August 2007 — Yes, 2007!! You guys just keep recycling the old Joomlart virtualmart templates into "new" magento templates. JM Topex couple months ago, and now, JM Larix, how about next month -- modified another one released in 2007 or 2006? Could you guys be more creative and come up with something new? I paid $200 for 3 months Magento templates membership and don’t think the money worth at all.

Hi,

Everyone has his own "design" taste & points when giving a review on any design. I respect all of your comments.

There is nothing wrong to convert a design from Joomla to Magento. In fact, the idea of creating Magento template club was from "high request" from users who wanted to have the similar design for other platforms (Drupal, WordPress, Magento) and we decided to go for Magento as its seem to become the new but best ecommerce solution.

About JM Larix, it is the second best VirtueMart design (after JA Mesolite) in our "shopping cart" portfolio. Moreover, JM Larix have received lot of interests so far (you can see we recieved 464 thread/2336 posts on JA Larix, and 517 threads/2671 posts at JA Mesolite).

And that’s why we decided that Magento version should be released.

Could you guys be more creative and come up with something new?

We are creative enough to bring you new things in next releases. But there are OLD designs that can be the favorite of all time. If there is a choice between new Magneto design and JM Teline II, which you will vote for?

I paid $200 for 3 months Magento templates membership and don’t think the money worth at all

About the price, I can confirm you are putting your money at the best place on the NET for Mangento product. For a three month membership, you can get all release templates (6 template as current) + 3 more in next 3 months = 9 templates. Where is your second choice with the same amount of money?

Anyway, I want to thanks for the comment. Yes, we are listening and we will try our best to deliver the best Magento themes (as we have been trying for Joomla lovers)

I personally love the Magento templates being released. Is is true they are being created from some of the more popular Joomla templates, but who is to stop you from modifying the template to your own needs? They are providing the source so you can do just that. I am a designer, so if I have some graphics, hell, I can modify just about anything.

If you are not happy with the look of the template, please modify them to suite your needs, using the JM templates as a backbone for what you are looking for. That is usually what I do to begin with, whether it is a Magento or Joomla template.

I did look around on the net for differences in pricing, and there are other companies that produce Magento templates as well, but for a higher cost, or, for a lower cost, but lesser quality. You can go with lesser cost and lesser quality if you so choose. I feel it is a free world, at least on the internet, so you are free to make your own choice.

After JM mesolite and JM purity which are just wonderfull, I’m a little bit disappointed with JM Larix. This template looks like a oscommerce template.

I will wait for the next month.

Unfortunately I agree. This template looks dated. On a plus point, this template is slightly faster than the other JM templates I have loaded.

There is an old saying.. "if it’s not broke -- don’t fix it". Larix has been a very successful template for JA (it’s actually the reason I joined) and it’s an ideal template for Magento. It’s clean. It’s fast. It’s easy to modify. I’m actually surprised JA didn’t release it sooner. I also think it would have been a good idea for JA to realease it as a free template as they did for virtuemart.

Maybe just split it up more… One new design one month, one classic the next. I definitely think investing in some more creative designs (but still 100% cross browser compatible) isn’t a bad idea at all. You would have to be stubborn or simply not graphically creative otherwise.

I think I would have to agree with the original poster. I thought about looking into magneto membership but honestly I think the price is quite high. I don’t think I would be happy either with paying a high premium for a reguritation of old JA templates.

I am not disappointed with the templates. Magento templates are difficult to come by these days, and if you do come across one, they are usually $99.00 a piece. This is for a single user, non-developer license. This is the case for almost all of the Magento template developers on the net. I found one company that does sell their templates at $50.00 a piece, but again, to get a developer license of such a template is around $500.00. Here at JA/JM, you can get a 3 month membership starting at $200.00, and have 5 to 7 templates ready to download. A JA/JM 3 month developer membership at $320.00 is not a bad price… nor the $200.00 for a 3 month personal license. Along with this price you are getting all extensions. One thing I am a little disappointed in is the lack of extensions, but I am sure that will change in time.

Give it time… I am sure they will be releasing more templates as this is not the end of the Magento line. They will come out with some templates that people love, and some that people will hate. It is the nature of the beast. Give it time folks, and if you aren’t happy, well, go to one of the other Magento Template distributors that are charging $500.00 per template with a developer license.

I personally think it is a bargain here!!!

Everything is expensive when it first comes out…..wait until everyone else starts flooding the market with the stuff, the price will drop….For now its up to you…no one is forcing you to buy!

The market is flooded already, the nice TM ones sell good for 180$ and only when being new to the way they do theirs, people complain. Afterwards they are satisfied. Go over to the Magento site and look for templates, the market is flooded with high quality templates for 50$ to 200$ disregarding the few ones from here. They just seem not to be able to keep track with what is offered already. Everyday some new ones come out, that is what it is…

Until next time…

Of course , if you are not satisfied from the price -- just wait a bit , it will drop after a while.
Also about the Jobs template its obvious Stellenmarkt that we used by lots of people , there are would be some who Stellenangebote would not like it. Lots of people -- lots of different tastes.
