I have one Magento store with JM Tyrolite, which has updated from 1.5 to 1.7 then to 1.8.1.
These day, I notice one problem on frontend and admin panels: if the required field is not filled correct or forget to fill, when I click the button, then it tips the required fields should be filled correct. But after I fill the required fields and click the button, it has no any response. Only I refresh the page and fill the required fields correct again then when I click the button we can go ahead. It is hard to figure it out which cause the root of issue now.

Root issue of this does not belong to our theme, the issue came from the upgrade of magento core.
Did you follow the guide Update to magento 1.8 ?
