Root Category shows 0 Products

Hi,
We have done data migration by resetting all steps. Migration completed successfully but the Root category(Default Category Migrated) has no products assigned to it. So WE couldn’t access any of the categories in storefront. Please help in fixing this issue ASAP as it is high priority.

Hi there,

Please refer the below screenshot

That is normal in Magento. You can only assign products to the children’s categories, not the root category.

So WE couldn’t access any of the categories in storefront.

Please check the Stores management and make sure you did assign the migrated root category for the default Store of the current frontend default website in your M2.

Regards,
Mall.

Hi Mall,
Thank you. I have assigned the newly created root category(Default Migrated) to the Main website(base) and it worked. While migration, new set of website, store and store views are created, which we don’t need.

But now Products are not showing up in frontend. While going to edit page of products, shows incorrect store information. We need to assign all products in catalog to Main website(base) and store view (Porto Default). Please help us in fixing this as its very high priority.

Yes, that is right. If you don’t need that, you should choose ‘Merge Default Websites’ setting in step #2 of our module.

You should consider re-performing all steps of our migration tool in a new M2 instance. And under your circumstance, you should choose ‘Merge Default Websites’ setting in step #2 as noted above.

Regards,
Mall.
