Hi there, recently migrated from Magento 1.9 to 2.3.0 everything looks OK…but now we are live we are wanting to update some of the products.
Thankfully “special price” updates OK…and so will SKU. But if we make changes to the NAME or description of a migrated product. The changes show in the back end but are not displayed in the front end.
newly created products work fine and behave as they should.
Tried to work around the issue by saving and duplicating a product…but that hung the server (well the backend just sat spinning for over 10 minutes the front end still worked) and I ended restarting VPS (we can duplicate newly entered products ok)

That is strange. Lets try reindex the data and clean Magento cache. Once done, if the issue you mentioned still persists, lets provide me information about your instance:
+ Admin credentials and URL to back-end
+ SSH credentials and path to M2 folder
+ A product’s SKU which has issue you mentioned

Hi there, we noticed this disparity in the database but wasnt sure how to address it…In all honestly it appears as though you are right, one of the mass actions plug ins we are using appears to have not functioned properly…when we checked a product that had not been touched by this plugin it saves properly. We had some issues with the plug in initially and the bug has been fixed but it looks like we have to rewrite all of the same products again..with the fixed mass action. I will take this up with them…sorry for wasting your time.

Just to confirm the author of the extension have confirmed the issue is theirs, or rather another issue with magento 2 and pertains to this https://github.com/magento/magento2/issues/12881 magento know of the issue but have not yet fixed it…but there is a work around. they will update their extension…
