Swedish language installation

Hi,
I’ve successfully installed the Swedish language pack on my JMOres site, Magento 1.5. But the Swedish site won’t show. What may the issue be?

This is what I did and in case someone else later might have any use of this information I’m writing out exactly what I did:

I first got the Swedish Language Pack extension 2.0 (since I’m running Magento 1.5) through this link: http://www.magentocommerce.com/magen…-language-pack

Logged into my site and went to:
System -- Magento Connect -- Magento Connect Manager
Logged into Magento Connect Manager (same login details as my Magento admin area)
Went into the top menu called Settings and changed the Preferred State from Alpha to Beta. (This had something to do with most language packs being only 99 % done they are Beta versions, I think…)
Then went back to the page called Extensions , pasted the extension code into the white field and clicked Install. All done there!

Returned to the Magento admin area and went into System -- Manage Stores, created a new Store View and these are the settings I made:

Store view information
Store: Main Store (can’t change that)
Name: Swedish
Code: swedish
Status: Enabled
Sort order: 0 Have also tried to set it as 1

Website information
Name: Main website
Code: base
Sort order: 0
Default store: Main store

In System -- Configuration I’ve tried to change the Current configuration scope (in the top left corner) to Swedish but it keeps popping back to Defualt Config. Is it supposed to do that?

Look forward to your replies!

Best regards,
Malin

Wonderful, thanks so much!! The only thing is that some words haven’t been translated yet. What file can I customise to change the text in the front end?
And then i wonder how do I create a Swedish menu so I can view my Swedish pages? Thanks again!

Hi Malin!

To translate for words in frontend please go to Admin -> System -> Configuration and then go to "Developer" under "Advanced". Go to "Translate Inline" and then set "Enable for Frontend" to yes (I have done this for you). After that, please go to frontend and translate the rest of words as your idea.
We haven’t Swedish menu separately it is the same English menu.

Tell me if you need more helps. Thanks.

Also one other thing, the Swedish package is defect, it just unzips everything to wrong folder.
after installing package, take a look in the app/locale folder an se if it created the "sv_SE" folder.
If not, and there is only a bunch of loose files in that folder, create the sv_SE folder and move the language file to their correct place.
