UB Mega Menu upgrade issues

Upgraded UB Mega Menu extension to 1.2.1 as part of Magento 2 from CE 2.2.6 to 2.3.6, noticed that new version requires customer group(s) assignment for menu set up, so updated that setting to use multiple customer groups.
Seeing following message in page source when the extension is disabled and no product categories are displayed.
The menu with the “main-menu” key does not exist or has not been assigned to this store view.
I then enabled the menu and now getting a blank/white page with error code 500 when I go to site home page or any other pages.
Are there any known issues or limitations for this version or migrating from old to new versions?
Thanks

The error was due to missing pre-requisite step, found it hard way as I saw following error when I added ini_set(‘display_errors’, 1); to index.php.
Step 1. (Required) Install PHP Mobile Detect Resource APIs
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘Mobile_Detect’ not found in …./app/code/Ubertheme/UbMegaMenu/Helper/Mega.php:100

I no longer get the blank page. I still see few css issues with the new extension, so need to see if it’s a configuration or some other issue.
