Licence

 Hi,
I understand this licence is restricted to a single instance, but we can use it on staging server. Our test/dev site is on a different domain -- how do we manage this?

Hi there,
You can install our Pro version on multiple Magento 2 instances including dev/test site. However you are entitled to migrate from one single Magento 1 database instance only.
You can proceed a testing migration first, however from our experience you should implement official data migration as it will save you pretty much time. And based on many completed projects, we believe our migration tool works properly.
If you run across any issue when migrating, please pause the process and provide us details of the issue here, we will help you out.
Hope that helps.
Regards,

Hi,

  1. Thank you for your prompt response -- much appreciated
  2. We have a problem then. We have migrated from a test database -- a copy of live except for customers/orders -- so that we can test without fear of revealing customer data. In this database we have dummy data for customers & orders.
  3. Is there a way we can repoint at the live database when we’re ready to import real customers/orders, etc?

Yes, you simply re-setting the M1’s database credentials in step #1 of our tool. And if your M1’s MySQL server is not same with M2’s server, you must enable remote connection to this MySQL server from M2’s server.

Mall.
