migration continue

We have 90,000 records in sales data of Magento 1.5.1.0. If all 90,000 records are migrated successfully and later tomorrow ( since the website is live, can expect more orders ) we have 90,100 records, should the migration begin from the start or will it continue from 90,001?

Hi Deepak,
We’d like to update further below:

we have 90,100 records, should the migration begin from the start or will it continue from 90,001?

Our migration tool supports two modes of delta migration:

  • Delta migration without the ‘update’ mode: if you use this option, it will continue from 90,001 (which means our migration tool only ports newly added sales records in Magento 1 to Magento 2)
  • Delta migration with the ‘update’ mode: if you use this option, it will continue from the ground up (which means our migration tool only ports both modified records and newly added sales records in Magento 1 to Magento 2)

Besides, please note a few points below:

1 -- For the delta migration, you will need to repeat the upgrade steps here to have the latest dump database from your M1 live site.

2 -- Even when you just need to migrate only sales data, our migration tool requires to migrate all steps below due to the relation between data objects:
Step 1 (Database Settings)
Step 2 (Migrate Sites, Stores)
Step 3 (Migrate Attributes)
Step 4 (Migrate Categories)
Step 5 (Migrate Products)
Step 6 (Migrate Customers)
Step 7 (Migrate Sales)

You can check out this article for further info on those steps. This means the migration time will take longer, depending the volume of all your data objects.

With the above additional info, we hope you can see if our migration tool is a good fit for you.

Regards,
